Aldebert Terrace & Albert Square

Aldebert Terrace and Albert Square were part of Oval NEP. These two streets have a rat running issue. Several options including road closure, one-way system, speed humps etc. were considered. Most of the options received strong opposition from neighbouring streets. Finally it was decided to create two pinch points by means of large green lane build-outs in Aldebert Terrace, and upgrading a set of speed cushions to a full width hump in Albert Square. The build-outs were grass turfed and residents are allowed to replace part (or all) of the grass with plants or shrubs if they wish to. Some local residents regularly mow the grass voluntarily
